Makalu Trekking

Among the most popular trekking rout in Nepal Makalu Trekking route also one of them. Makalu trekking was restricted trekking area of eastern part of Nepal but right now it have been given permit by Nepal Government. Makalu region is protected by Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project which is established at  1992, which cover 2330 Sq Km. Makalu is the Fifth Highest Mountain in the world. Five major ecological zones are found in this region which are Lush, Tropical Arun Valley, Dense Forest , fir and Alpine Meadows which lead to the might Barun Glacier. It totally a Himalayan Journey or Expedition including unforgettable experience for trekker. Mind catching scenery and Makalu Barun National Park is the main focal point of Makalu Trekking.  It's area has been spread up to Solukhumbu and Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal. Varity of flora and fauna are found in this region among this National Park is a home to wild plant and animals. Nestled in the lower reaches of these valleys are communities of Rai, Sherpa, and Shingsawa (Bhotia) farmers. Though economically poor and isolated, they retain a rich cultural heritage. They hold the key to the preservation of the unique biological and cultural treasures of the Makalu Barun area. The sub-tropical valley floor of the mighty Arun River is in places densely forested, contrasting with the terraced slopes higher up, which are farmed by villagers of diverse tribal groups. High pastures typify the upper slopes, which border on the Makalu-Barun National Park, an important conservation area for many threatened species. Most of the trekkers and mountaineers visit the Makalu-Barun area during October-November and March-April when high passes are less likely to be snowed over. Lower elevations are temperate throughout winter, and hot during April and May. Heavy monsoon rains occur throughout the region from June through September, with occasional showers during April-May. Makalu base camp trekking is one of the most remote and unfrequented trekking areas of Nepal where tourist are visited for unforgettable life experience.

Firstly Makalu Barun National Park consist lots of wild animals and plants which make you all the time fresh. Secondly dense forest of Arun Valley where rhododendron is found make your eyes open all the time. thirdly the peaks and mountain you see on the way or form the top.  Mount Makalu (8463m), the world’s fifth highest Mountain , Chamlang Himal and Barun Valley are the major jewels of this area. Having a wide range of attitudinal and climatic variations, the Makalu Barun trekking offers a remarkable and diverse habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna. Plants of all major ecological zones: tropical, sub-tropical, temperate, alpine and sub-alpine are found here and Makalu Barun National park is the home to a rich variety of wildlife.
